I ran 20 mph with 48v to the stock 36v motor, F/R, and solenoid for quite a while before I finally finished the conversion properly. I did have 4g welding cable throughout.

I was looking on the ezgo site, and it looks as if all series carts 2005+ have the high speed motor rated for 19.9 mph, so is it just a matter of a controller if anything at all, or does the freedom have completely different components?

The freedom model from E-Z-GO has a motor that is wound for speed and a slightly larger controller (stock is a 275 AMP unit, freedom has a 350AMP unit). The freedom model also comes factory equiped with head/tail lights and the harness is set up for turn signals and stop lights as well.

Are you sure on those numbers? I have looked and found 250 and 300 amp curtis controllers for my cart. Is 300 right or do I need to try to find a 350a?

I am averaging 23 on the set up I'm running now. Hope to reach close to 30 when I go to 48v..

It was 275 and 350, but they have since replaced the 350 with the 400.

Where abouts in Central Florida is your shop located?
