94 EZGO broken leaf spring
Hello, and let me first say thank you to the guys who lend their time and expertise to help those that need it on this forum. I have a 94 electric ezgo with the ezgo dump bed on the back that I acquired for my step-daughter for Christmas. Two days later on a bumpy road the leaf spring at driver side rear broke in two. I have been unable to find one reasonably priced in my area and have expanded my search to trailer leaf springs at the local hardware stores. If I find the right length of spring does anyone see a problem with replacing both rear springs with a 1500 lb three leaf spring? I took the bed off of the cart and it is unbelievably heavy, I would think a heavy spring would help especially if I haul any dirt or gravel in the bed of the cart. Any help is appreciated and thank you in advance.

Re: 94 EZGO broken leaf spring
welcome to BGW jason. i think that will be a little too stiff . check with the sponsors. there are 3 and 4 leaf spring sets available that would be a better choice imho. tell them you are a member here and some will give you a discount. good luck.

Re: 94 EZGO broken leaf spring
Would making the cart ride rougher be the only side effect or could heavier springs cause damage to another component of the suspension?

Re: 94 EZGO broken leaf spring
It will just be a stiffer ride. Check with sponsors for HD rear springs, if that fails hit up eBay, and they have a TON of them.
I have folks that live in Paris. They own a dairy farm!! I am in Houston |

Really? Which farm? I followed your thread on your rebuild and wish I could devote the time and money on this cart.

Re: 94 EZGO broken leaf spring
Well its a small world, Im not immediately familiar with it but probably know of it and just dont recall. Im actually having a hard time finding leaf springs in my area for my cart. There is one cart shop that does a lot of rebuilds that Im going to check with, otherwise I guess i will just have to order a pair.

Re: 94 EZGO broken leaf spring
More than likely you will not find them locally, and if you do they are not in stock
Just order them. It will be cheaper and TAX FREE! |
