Is it possible to have a plug installed in my cart? How would I go about this?
I want to run a small plug in speaker set to connect to my ipod. thoughts? |

Re: Adding AC (Home Plug) to cart
You shouldn't need a converter if you're using a stand-alone 12v battery. Are you capable of installing a car stereo? A cheap head unit and a pair of speakers is really all you need. My head unit has an iPhone/ iPod dock. Otherwise, get one with an 1/8" plug input on the front.

Re: Adding AC (Home Plug) to cart
I have an EZGO Medalist with 6 batteries.. Are you saying to just add a 12v (is that a car battery?) and hook it up to car stereo? How could I charge that battery?
Thanks for the help - much appreciated |

Re: Adding AC (Home Plug) to cart
That's what I did. All my accessories run off a 12v car battery. I use a 12v accessory outlet to charge the battery with a trickle charger/ maintainer. I put more outlets on the dash to charge the phone and whatnot. All my 36v battery pack does is drive the motor.

Hmmmm... I'm interested.
Have any pics or instructions? Would love to have a phone charger as well. |

Re: Adding AC (Home Plug) to cart
No real instructions, just drop the battery under the seat and tap as needed. I put a rocker switch on the dash for the head unit, and I use a generic 6 circuit fuse box under the cupholder.
It looks something like this: I don't have a pic handy of the port I use to charge the 12v, but it's a generic accessory outlet with a weather cover available in the RV/ marine electronics section of most department stores for about $10. |

Re: Adding AC (Home Plug) to cart
Of course, if you really want 120 vac, go to most any department store, automotive store, sports store, and look for an "inverter". They come in a variety of sizes, so you'll need to know your load in watts. I have a 300, a 600 and a 750 watt unit, as well as half a dozen smaller UPS inverters. I'd go with the smallest unit you can get away with.
