Default Forward in slow speed only?

My understanding is the 2003 txt series motor has two speeds. When in reverse it only goes the slow speed. (or at least that is the effect you get). How would I wire forward to run only at the slower speed?

Mykids will be driving the cart around the yard, and Id like to limit them to a slow speed at first... Maybe it would be easier to just build a stop for the pedal?

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

There is a simple way. You will need a DMM and the ability to read + and - voltage...
Have you got those things?

That might be worth a try. But I think you will get the reverse buzzer going that way too and you don't want to disconnect that with kids playing with the cart. I was thinking more in terms of a secret toggle switch.

Yes yes. Didn't think of that. Let me see if I can figure out the wiring tomorrow.

Thanks.

Looks like you could simply move the orange wire to the other terminal on MS-4.
That would give you half speed in F & R and still get the beeper in R.

You could wire a "Secret" switch or a keyed switch into the Orange wire so you could run it at full speed when desired, but it would be full speed in both F & R.

Yes a 3 position switch could give you all 3 options.
