Default I can't get this 2001 36 volt EZ GO to work

I just bought this cart. Was sitting in a guys shop for 4 or 5 years. The switch had no key, put in a new switch, one/off. Bad batteries. I put my three marine batteries in and wired them in series and when I connected the negative lead, it made a huge arc, i don't think thats good . The micro switch in the floor is bad so i jumped the wires. The wires in the dash are ,one orange, one red, 2 white, one gray, one green, I have no idea where they connect. It has a swith for forward neutral and reverse. I cannot get to go and i cant find a wiring diagram with those wire colors. Can somebody help me figure this out?

Thanks, Klang A lang

Thanks Sottyb for getting back to me so fast. this looks really close and makes more sense. I've never worked on a golf cart. I hope I can figure it out, especially why it arced so bad when I connected the negative cable to the battery for the final connection. I hope the motor isn't bad. I'll let you know what I find using the diagram. Awesome!

Thanks, Klang a Lang

scottyb can you tell me why it arced real big when i connected the negative cable to the last battery in series on the negative post? Im using three 12 volt deep cycle trolling motor batteries for 36volts. The micro switch in the floor board is bad. i jumped the wires til I get a new switch. Dont i give up.

Was the tow/run switch on top of the controller under the seat in tow?, i hope it was before you connected the batteries

Guess what y'all! My son in law connected the batteries back together and we wired up the switch and turned it on and mashed the gas pedal and it clicked inside the cover of the control module. It still wont go in forward or reverse. I did notice that the small black wire was not connected to the negative post on the battery and he said it did not arc when he wired the batteries back together. May be its the thing where you plug in to charge the golf cart . It still wont go forward or reverse.

So this is a PDS cart right? F/R switch on the dash and a RUN/TOW switch on the controller??, your going to have to take the cover off the controller, 4 bolts two on top two on bottom, flip the run/tow to tow before you do any work, so you can check the solenoid, do you have a digital volt meter??

EDIT - i see where you say it does have a run/tow, you need a volt meter, and we need battery pack volts
