proper charging amp
I have a 87 club car just bought. It has a 36v system with a 36v charger. When I plug it in it reads 5amps. Is this correct?

Re: proper charging amp
OK. They had the reverse switch wired backwards. When I charged it up yesterday it was reading 20 volts and making a somewhat loud buzzing noise from the charger. Today I swapped the wires around so I can go fast forward instead of backwards and now it reads 5 amps. Didn't' t know if wireing would make a difference.

Re: proper charging amp
It should be between 15-20 amps when it first starts, then it will gradually go down as the cycle completes...

Re: proper charging amp
OK. It should have a full charge from yesterday. So as the battery runs down then it might show higher volts. I am going to buy a meter for the golf cart soon so I know how much charge I got.
