new motor still have problems!
Ok I posted the other day and I bought a 1998 48 volt ds. I got it bad batteries and a bad motor it was towed in run. I got a 48 volt motor wrong one from an older cart guy told me to change end cap and it would be good.
long story. I got new batteries, a plum motor bandit motor and I still have problems. I hooked up the plum motor and it wants to barley run in reverse and it wants to go in reverse with the selector switch in forward. I went back out and now it does nothing. I can hear and feel both solenoids pulling in. I was told that possibly I burnt up my controller. Do you guys think I need a new controller? Or is there some other test I can do? I have the obc black wire going into the negative on the first battery and then + to negative all the way to the through and the lst post is positive and it has a red wire to the charger and a red wire to the first solenoid. I have green to A1 and Orange to F1 and the white/blue small wire from controller to A2 and white from solenoid to F2. I think it is hooked up alright. I have a siler GE controller. where to start and how can I test the parts? When it wants to go in reverse it has no power if you push with your foot in reverse it will go but not very well. Batteries are all good and I have like 51 volts across the pack. Thanks if it is easier to talk 989-295-2411 or I can call you. Thanks |

Look at a wire diagram and check the wires. You might need to replace the controller

Re: new motor still have problems!
Typically, controllers work or don't work. There are a few exceptions. Some of the Club Car controllers had limp mode. But this would not speed up when you pushed with your foot. Almost sounds to me like you have a motor problem. I know it's a new motor, but maybe you should pull it out and give it the sniff test.
Also remember that any weak connection in the Amperage delivery system Can produce these type of results. In a series cart this problem can be in the foreign reverse switch. Or it can just be a bad cable connection. I hope this helps |
