Default Excel to IQ controller change

I am wondering about changing out my Excel controller to a IQ system, as it looks like there are several more ways to gain speed with the IQ system without having to change the motor (program changes, magnets, etc...). Is it easily achieved for a novice to change out the controller, possibly to a high speed IQ unit? Looking for the most cost effective way the gain 7-9 mph.
Thanks

For the price and time to change into an IQ system, you would have to swap the entire wire harness, and get a new controller. Just spent the $225 with plum quick and get a bandit motor upgrade. And you will be around 25mph.

If you change the controller to an IQ controller you have to change the wire Harness. The excel harness is not compatible IQ controllers.

MyMonsterTruck, was your Precedent originally an Excel or an IQ?
From your signature, it looks like it is now an IQ. Is that correct?

MyMonsterTruck, do you have the manf. and model numbers for the harness and controller you used to convert to IQ? Is your controller Regen enabled?

My cart was an excel cart, I just purchased a controller from FSIP and it came with a wire harness that plugs into the factory harness then into the controller. And yes it the regean braking is removed.

I have heard good things about that FSIP controller. I think it is the only Excel aftermarket controller out right now, but there will be more, especially since the Excel system is all CC is using now...
