08 Club Car Precedent
Hey guys! Just picked up my first golf cart yesterday evening. I went for a first ride this morning and had an issue. Of course it doesn't do this in the test drive! My back left tire kept locking when I wasn't even touching the brake. When i do touch the brakes it instantly locks up. After some research on here and I check mine out, I see that the brake line is super tight and it must need to be extended. I will order an extension today but in the mean time can I just disconnect that brake line and zip tie it up? Will the cart still function like this?
Another thing is I looked under it this morning and I saw what must be battery corrosion on the bottom of the tray? Pics will be attached. Is this normal? Also, when I left the seat I can hear the batteries bubbling or boiling. Is this normal? I took a pic of the vin to see if you all could help to tell me what motor is in this thing so I will know what controller or magnet to get. This will sound real newbie, but do I keep it plugged in all the time except for when I ride? Sorry for all the questions and thanks for your help. |

Welcome to BGW :)
Look at the passenger side, inside the dash is a sticker with your cart model number, startes with PQ or similar. Then in the stickies you can look up your cart manual and specs. I don't see why you would need to extend that cable, is it lifted? |

Re: 08 Club Car Precedent
Yes it is lifted. Then why would the back drivers side brake keep locking up at random times while driving? You barely have to touch the brake for them to lock up.

Never heard the batteries on my 09' RXV make any sound. I would be really concerned if I heard what you are describing.

Re: 08 Club Car Precedent
Batteries will bubble while charging and shortly after, but they shouldn't be all the time. Make sure they are not overfilled.
Usually when guys install a lift, they install a passenger side brake cable on the drivers side because it is longer... |

Re: 08 Club Car Precedent
after some researching I think it might be normal. The guy had been charging it to make sure it had a full charge when I got there. I will watch it but I bet after a little use it will go away when the batteries discharge a little bit.
