Early stealth club car base

So a buddy has a an early stealth with a club car base originally a 48 volt set up 8x6v. Somehow between him and whoever he had put in the new batteries they replaced them with 8x8v . He recently came to me asking why now it won't run. Well you can guess it's because he only has a 48v charger. I immediately took out two of the batteries of the series and works fine.

He does not want to waste the other two batteries and wants to now convert it to 64 volts. What do I need? Cables for sure it only has 4ga.
What controller would I need to get him?
Someone told me that he could keep the motor?
Solenoid?

you could keep everything, the run time would be extended like a second gas tank and the power would be great. the motors just call for 48volts to run them, I really don't know how many volts would be to many. but 64volts should should be perfectly fine.

Kind of what I was thinking but I would imagine a larger controller

If you can squeeze in one more eight volt you'd be at 72 volts. I don't know of many 64 volt controllers or chargers.

A new contactor, controller, and charger plus one more eight volt battery would be pretty awesome.

main problem is charging them ...64v chargers over $800.. i'd keep it 48v sell other batteries

I believe 72 volt chargers are a little more common - squeezing one more 8 volt in there would be the way to do it!! Alltrax for the controller - they make lotsa 72 volt stuff. Get in touch with Andy4639, he's a veteran "high voltage" guy.

Other than the high chance of grenading the stock motor if you aren't careful,
