88 club car ds
I just picked up a 88 club car for 150.00 with a charger. batteries needed water bad, I put a gal. in them. put the cart on charge was able to get the cart to move forward no problem. but reverse it wants to go but not enough power. The question is does reverse need more battery to move? I know it needs new batteries but I would like to test a few things before I spend a lot of money.

Reverse only uses half voltage I think on these older carts. Seems like you just don't have enough voltage for it to work.

Thanks for the information mrgolf. I cleaned up the batteries and made a couple new cables then charged it again, I now have reverse not a lot of power but at least I know that if I put in new batteries the cart will run pretty good. Thanks again
