Replacing battery cables, which size replacement cables to make?
I'm going to replace the cables in my 1990 36 volt Marathon cart. Which size cable should I use so I don't have to replace them to upgrade the cart later?
All opinions welcome. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

If your plans do not exceed 400 amps go with 4g welding cable with a 400+ strand count and soldered copper lugs. If you plan on 500 amps use 2g.

Also note 36v uses more amperage than 48v for the same job and the older Marathon carts are all metal and heavier than later model carts. So the combination of 36v and heavier carts makes 2g cable a good call for any size control.

I would go with 2g in case you upgrade further in the future. Difference in cost isn't much.
