If you do call them, one thing to bring up I just thought about when I bought it was;

The modes labeled on the back of the charger do not coincide with the modes listed in the user manual I PM'd you a link to.

I called tech support about that at the time of purchase, as to not ruin my new battery pack and they assured me to follow what was listed on the back of the charger and not what was listed in the manual.

Wouldn't the charger stay on all the time at a reduced amperage if it's in float mode? I know the float voltage for T875 is 54v but could it be that it's in float mode with a high voltage for some reason?

I also followed what was on the charger. It flashes to indicate the correct mode for Trojan.

Just talked to the guys at DPI.

He said my charger has no AC disconnect relay but the charger is showing symptoms of having a board replaced from a charger that does have an AC disconnect relay.

He said they see these problems when the control board is replaced with the wrong one.

Would you happen to know if this is the original control board in the charger?

Those boards are expensive little things[emoji52]

This is what mine acts like when fully charged and in float mode.

I feel like mine should be the same way too. But instead it’s like this:

The Gen 3 does have a float mode.
Gen 4 has a maintenance mode which stops charging and monitors the pack voltage. When the pack drops to a preset value the Gen 4 initiates another charge and then goes into monitor mode again.

Gen-4 doesn't have float Gen-3 came in two flavors, one with float and the other with an AC relay.

The identifier was the first digit(s) of the part(model) number.
1 = 120VAC with float
1R = 120VAC with AC relay.

--------------
The Power-On LED being off on Luke's charger indicated the board is telling the AC relay to disconnect the AC from the transformer, but not having an AC relay it cannot, so it is still charging.

I suspect the part number on Luke's charger is:1-48C017 followed by several more digits and he has a board for a 1R-48C017.

-----------
Attached is a picture of the AC input wiring in the 36V Gen-3 charger I was using when I was running 36V and it looks like there are some inline connections, so it appears to be possible to add the AC relay, which might be a less expensive fix.

Also, is a picture of the board showing the P8 plug isn't installed.

So if the charger in question doesn't have an AC relay, but the board has a P8 Plug installed, the problem is what DPI tech support suggested it might be.

I think you’re right on. I’ll wait to hear from NCPW about what was done to it.

The charger was bought new from Apex Golf Carts, box sealed and not opened, and I never had the board replaced. Never had a reason to.

The Model number is: 1-48017-04 so it should be a float model according to JohnnieB's info posted. An accusense, float model is what I was told it was.

When it finished charging my US Battery pack it did exactly as handtools posted of his and floated around 58v.
