Took it out, it goes forward and reverse, as it should. Nice stern click from the solenoid now. Glad it was just that. Had to be in the solenoid section, user error, case closed.

Thanks little Zener diode for saving my bacon! And thanks to all who chimed in and made me use my brain on the weekend!

And thankfully you did not blow the diode. It provides protection you need....
