Default Re: Regenerative braking

Regen braking doesn't really "charge" the batteries, as the energy that can be regenerated is much less than what was used to get the cart up to speed to begin with, unless you started at the top of a mountain. It does return some energy back to the batteries when the cart is decelerating, and you can feel that by the cart slowing itself down, and usually hear it by the change in the pitch of the motor sound. If you have a voltmeter on the battery pack while driving, you'll see the pack voltage go up a little when regen braking kicks in.

The Blue wire is an accessory tap to supply 48v for a 48v to 12v reducer. On the other side you'll see a black wire with a yellow bullet connector. That is mean to be used as the negative side for the reducer and any accessories that are powered by the reducer.

Also note that when connecting battery cables and accessory taps,
install the larger cable first and then the smaller tap wires and nut.
Torque up to 100inch pounds, no more needed as it could spin the post.
