V-glide help
I have a elderly neighbor that I'm trying to get his cart back to functioning correctly (for free or cheap) and need some advice. I own and sell a few newer carts but I am not familiar with the older v-glide systems. The cart accelerates to full throttle when the peddle is depressed. Forward and reverse. The wiper arm on the v glide is swiping over the contacts and goes back to the lower position and stops the cart, but it has nothing but full throttle to 14 mph once the go pedal is depressed. The cart is stock and nothing looks out of place at first glance. I'm going to dig into to this tomorrow, any advice from the v glide experts ??? Thank you!!

Re: V-glide help
Is it 36 volt or 48 volt? Resistor cart or controller cart? Year and pictures would help too. Over time Club Car has used many different systems to drive their carts and several of them used V-Glide based throttles - with some adaptations.

Re: V-glide help
It's a 48 volt cart with a Curtis controller. The cart serial number is 00122274. I need to brush up on downloading pictures, its been awhile since I did any to this forum

Re: V-glide help
That sounds like a 2-wire (0-5k) and the has failed, now going wide open. But it should be a 3-wire MSP (V-glide) on a 48v cart.
Is there any letters before your serial #. Like A or AA or anything else? |

Re: V-glide help
I found a serial number this morning under another factory sticker that had a bar code on it. It is A9913-754570. Looks original, but so did the other number covering it.

Re: V-glide help
Yeah, like scotty said, probably a re-manufactured unit....
The Serial says it is a '99 Electric DS so take the Yellow wire off Pin #3 on your controller and with the cart jacked Up, in Forward, and key On, check the voltage from pedal up to pedal down and it should go from 0vdc to 5vdc gradually changing. You should have 48v Pos on pin 1 at the Controller when you press the pedal. If it is erratic or jumps up immediately to 5 volts, we have an issue in the back of the v-glide, probably in the resistor area. |
