Re: EZGO TXT Unhappy Wife
Well the truth of the matter is that the first thing I did was upgrade to an AXE4855 controller/new solenoid/new motor/and 2 gauge wiring. The cart ran the exact same to her. The kids and I could tell a little difference, but not much. So I replaced the batteries and she is still under-whelmed as I am at this point of spending and upgrading. The thing pops the front tires off the ground now, I think she is expecting way too much from batteries? Anway, I'm going to slap 2 more 6 volt batteries on there this weekend and see if that helps any.

Re: EZGO TXT Unhappy Wife
Maybe you need to ask her what she expects instead of guessing. We all know that 30 mpg and 10 sec 1/4 mile can't happen but some of us still want it.

Re: EZGO TXT Unhappy Wife
Neither of us expects that kind of speed, any increase would've been nice, but mostly we were going for Torque. What we got is when you press the pedal to the floor, the front wheels pop up, which is neat I guess, but that's about the only difference other than having a lot less $$ now.

Re: EZGO TXT Unhappy Wife
Torque isn't something you are always going to "see".....
the best method of "seeing" a difference in Torque is to do a before and after. I usually take mine to a small hill and GPS the speed of the cart at the bottom of the hill, the middle of the hill and the top of the hill, then after doing the upgrades, I run the same test.... Usually the biggest difference I see is that after doing a torque upgrade, at the top of the hill, I am traveling a few MPH faster than I was before the upgrade. I did know someone that used to do a "stall" test as well, but after burning up a motor he finally decided that wasn't the safest test to perform. |
