Solenoid Diagnosis?
I have a '98 EZGO Series, non-PDS. I am trying to figure out why it is not running. The solenoid is not clicking. I have followed some other threads to try to see if it is bad. I have 38.6 volts with the pack. I have that on the battery side of the solenoid and about 1.6 less on controller side. I have 0 on the small posts (with pedal pressed or not). From what I have read, it looks like the solenoid is okay? Where do I go from here? Don't know if this is important, if I disconnect the black wire on the battery level gauge, the reverse buzzes, but only when it is disconnected and when pedal is not pushed. Thanks!

Re: Solenoid Diagnosis?
if the reed switch in your charger inlet is still hooked up,you should have36v at the left micro switch on f-r controller. from there the current runs to the key switch. from there to its and micro under the floor board. when you step on the pedal. juice should go to the solenoid. some where in there should be your problem.. check the reed switch first. you can by pass it and just run a wire directly from the first pos. to the micro on the f-n.

Check for +power coming out of the charge receptacle on the small white/red wire? If not trace it to a plug in connection near Battery main positive and reconnect it there at main positive posts... |

Re: Solenoid Diagnosis?
Thanks guys. Looks like the reed switch is bad. Sounds like I can just do away with it and connect the wire from the F&R directly to charger recpt..

Re: Solenoid Diagnosis?
ml, you want to run the wire to the first pos. post. it's easier. you just need 36 at the f-r micro all the time.
