Default Maintenance......

Just wondering what all else you guys do regarding maintenance on your carts. I know about adding water to the batteries and making sure the cables are tight, but is there anything else you do?

Any spots to oil or grease? etc.

you will have a greese fittling on the steering and you have oil in the rear diff. I also make sure the lugs are tight when I service them. Its also a good idea to check cable tightness on the motor. Dont forget about the brakes.

And wash it every once in a while.

Also keep a check on the air pressure. Low tires will draw unnecessarily from your battery pack.

I keep a mental check-list, but I recommend to my friends and neighbors to do the following:

1. Each use/Daily: Tires look full, Batteries clean and wires tight, Steering feels responsive, no new noises/rattles, brakes work (able to lock up tires with a hard stop), check charger wire and plug connections for dirty, frayed or pulled wires (AC and DC wires and plugs).
2. Each week: Battery levels good, add distilled water as needed. Check front and rear suspension for loose, bent, broken or leaking parts. Investigate as needed.
3. Each month: Fill tires to recommended pressure. Top off all batteries. Check all lug nuts tight. Check all wire connections tight (including controller and motor).
4. Annually: Check differential fluid level, rotate tires, check/tighten all bolts/nuts that are accessible. Clean anything that doesn't get cleaned in your normal wash routine. Lift batteries and inspect for corrosion. Check all wiring that is visible for cracks, wear/fraying, corrosion, loose or pulled crimp connectors and repair or replace as needed (this includes light wiring, throttle and charge circuit wires)

I can't afford to have the wife bugging me that her cart doesn't work, this checklist keeps her out of my hair and on the beach!!
