Re: New plum quick bandit motor installed
Alltrax has a great reputation, and Logisystems units can be a good deal too. 400 amps is right where you want to be with that motor. Anything higher is overkill, unless you are planning on future motor upgrades. Be sure your new unit is 48v capable. It will run fine on 36v, but you want to keep that path open for the future. Speed/Power is addictive!

Re: New plum quick bandit motor installed
For the record, controllers do not "put out" amps, they regulate amps from the pack. A typical EZ-Go Series controller is 275 amps. I'm not sure what Yamaha uses but the duty cycle is the same so it should be similar. Allowing 400 amps to get to the Bandit motor would be nice for the torque curve. Converting to 48v would be nice for more top speed.

Re: New plum quick bandit motor installed
How much was shipping for the new motor? How much did it cost to ship your old motor back to them? I am interested in this same motor. Thanks

Motors cost about a dollar a pound to ship domestically. Your stock motor weighs about 30 pounds. I hope this helps |

Re: New plum quick bandit motor installed
Does anyone know what the stock motor bandit upgrade top speed will be if I have a speed code 4 already programmed? I have a 2015 Precedent 48V (SN JE105) with 23x10x14 Predator tires. Thank you.

Re: New plum quick bandit motor installed
The speed code 4 will not have any effect on the speed due to the "speed magnet" in the Bandit motor.
The bandit does not have much horsepower so I am guessing 22mph is as much as it can push those 23" tires. Terrain, topography, cart weigh, tire pressure, batteries, etc can also reduce the top speed. |
