primary clutch spring issue
new to the golf cart world, I recently purchased a 83 yami G1A3. Lost all power, we towed it home little over a mile. After printing the wiring diagram, I found a burnt fuse. Motor runs fine, I replaced the drive belt, the cart will not move but a few inches forward or reverse.... closer inspection and some self education...the primary clutch spring resembles a screwed up coat hanger than a spring. Im in the Army so that is the best discription I have at this time.
My question at this time is, do I need the Sheave puller to replace the Primary Clutch Spring? |

Re: primary clutch spring issue
If your looking at the clutch on the rearend, (Driven clutch) yes you will need a puller to replace the spring. if your looking at the clutch on the engine, (Drive clutch) no you will not need a puller. but if you can see that spring then you already know that. Hope this helps.

Re: primary clutch spring issue
Im a bit confused, you said "primary clutch spring" which is the front clutch or the drive clutch. However the spring is not visible unless you that the clutch apart. So you must mean the secondary clutch, or driven clutch. And if that's the case then you are right, get that replaced. Go with a red spring from Plowman's or a stock unit. The white springs are too stiff in my opinion.
