Default Reverse

Have a G1, Runs in reverse fine on start up, but after it runs awhile and gets warm it won`t go. Starter turns motor but not enough to start. Any one have any ideas? Motor runs fine forward warm or cold.

My guess would be something to do with the timing when it warms up. It's fairly easy to adjust.

ky_mike, Thanks for the tip. I`ve never timed one so any info on how to go about it. I have somewhat of a manual but don`t recall it saying anything about timing. I will take a closer look.
Thanks again

If you look at post #70, 2nd picture in this thread http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-y...ring-g1-7.html you will see where to adjust it. Loosen up the 2 screws at the top and bottom and rotate the cover forward or back to adjust. I wouldn't know how to do it with a timing light or if it's even possible but if you do adjust it make sure you mark where it is now before you move it so you will know where it was if it fails.

I doubt timing would be an issue in this case, it wont be a factor in this circumstance. The motor spins over in reverse after its warm?
