POWER is a function of Voltage and Current(amps).
Your cart pack supplies 200-400 amps of current to run at speed.(JohnnieB Please correct if I am wrong here)
200Ax36v=7,200Watts of power.
so a few SECONDS of driving use more POWER than a bunch of tunes

so what size wire do I need to run off of my battery pack to the voltage regulator? im assuming 16ga is too small with those amps

NOoooo, power reducer will only pull a FEW amps.

500w of power from reducer only needs about 14 amps from battery pack (+/-).
500w is LOUD music.

14a x 36v = 504w

Good 16g multi-strand copper wire is good to over 20amps.(Johnnieb--correct if wrong)

how bout this. I have 30amp voltage reducer. what size wires are safe to run from it to 36v pack? my electrician buddy said hell no on the 16ga since reducer is 30amp?
