Default SPM-48500 Settings

Hey guys. I just finished up my build a few weeks ago. My new batteries are finally about broken in and Im pretty happy with how it turned out. I ended up doing a 48v conversion, SPM-48500 controller, 2GA wire, HD F&R, and 400amp super duty solenoid. The cart has a 6" lift with 23" tires.

Im happy with all the upgrades but im looking for just a slight more tq or pickup on the initial take off. Im still running the stock 36V motor and don't want to over do it either as it will be another month or so till i upgrade the motor.

Could i "feel" more torque down low by just adjusting the throttle rate to 15-20%? Or do I have to mess with the TQ curve itself.

Any suggestions would be great!

Also i never notice my cooling fan kick on. I did a fan test under the controller tab and it says ksi must be on to test fan. Any idea?

I wouldn't run that stock motor on 500 amps, turn the amps down to 400 until you up grade the motor, and then turn the amps back to 500. Your 23 inch tires is what's robing you torque

The "throttle up" rate at 12.5 is a little conservative. Might try 20 or more based on your experimentation. bump it up a little then try it, then bump it up a little more. You can slide the torque curve a little bit more towards the low end, but if you do, make a curve like they made. Might as well make a copy of your current configuration before you change anything (oops, do this first).

The beauty of these type of settings is you can change it 5 ways to get a similar feel. It's almost too much control unless you are willing to take time to understand it.
What I mean is you can set the amperage or the voltage to come up quicker or you can ask the throttle to send the throttle up signal sooner. Sort of like reverse expo on an RC control. This is the simplest way to accelerate faster without causing an imbalance.

Sounds good. Im going to play with the Throttle Rate first and see how i like it. Then maybe play with the TQ curve a little.

I agree, i could have explained several other ways to skin the same cat. These seemed the easiest.
