Creepy Ezgo
2002 ezgo PDS starts off normal goes a few feet then comes to a crawl. Any suggestion for a good starting place to start checking?
Thanks. Farmboy1942 |

Re: Creepy Ezgo
Is it beeping when it slows down ? Sounds like the speed sensor. Put the cart in maintenance mode by turning the key off then flipping the fnr switch from N to R 5 times then back to N. Count the beeps it initially makes. That will tell you what mode it is in. Then drive it and count the beeps. There is a chart on the controller cover

Re: Creepy Ezgo
Depends on what is wrong. What were the results from putting it in maintenance mode?

Re: Creepy Ezgo
I would check the wires and connections for it first but yes there is no fixing one. Make sure to put the cart in Tow before messing with wiring. Look at where the sensor cable goes around the back passenger side of the body for damage. That is a common wear point. If the wires look good it probably is the sensor itself. Post a wanted in the Parts section and may be able to get a used one from someone who has upgraded to an Alltrax..

Upgrade to an Alltrax and you won't have to worry about the speed sensor anymore.

Re: Creepy Ezgo
My grand son might need one. I need more info.on them I'm new at this my first time working on one. It is quiet an experience for a seventy two year young man.
I have learned a lot of new words. FOR EXAMPLE: JUMPER WIRE IS A SPEED CHIP AKA PERSONALITY CHIP INSULATION MATERIAL IS COTHERM A DPST SWITCH IS A LOGIC SUPPLY SWITCH AND THAT A PRE-CHECK FOR A REMAN CONTROLLER MIGHT NOT BE 100% RIGHT. |
