Default Speed magnet GE motor

First post new owner been hanging around for awhile and have a question. I have a 2007 Club Car with a GE motor. Top speed on the flat is 17 to 18 MPH per a GPS. What will a high speed magnet do for me speed wise? Will it stop the regen when slowing down? I have looked the motor over and it looks like getting the old magnet off might be a problem. It looks like there is a little rust on the shaft by the magnet. I don't want it to break and pieces falling down into the motor any Ideas?
Thanks Frank

The high speed magnet sends a modified speed signal to the controller via the speed sensor. Because of this modified signal, the controller never activates the motor braking to limit the vehicles top speed. If you can feel the motor braking holding you back when you reach maximum speed, the magnet will allow you to accelerate past that point until you reach the mechanical limits of the vehicle. Usually 22MPH or so is all you're gonna get out of a stock IQ system. It will no longer restrict your speed when going down an incline. The roll-away braking feature will continue to work as normal if the vehicle begins to roll away from a complete stop. It's a very popular modification and we have to work hard to keep them in stock.

The magnet gives you a top end increase. It's not going to give you tire roasting off the line acceleration. But the average cart sees anywhere from 3-5mph increase. I've sold many in my years, and the GE is probably the most difficult to get off in some cases. But with the proper instructions, and suggested tools, you can do the job yourself at home in less than an hour.

I am in the final stages of testing an electronic magnet computer.
Plug in tach option.

More information on request.

Available with custom programming.

Plug and play into standard 3p deutch connectors.
Designed for Gem. Universal fit.

Version 1: Plug-in 1/2 count. Same as a 2 magnet motor.

Version 2: Stock count (and speedometer) to a field programmable
setting. ie 15mph. Then switch to half count.
Adjustable switch point.

Version 3: Comes programmed to user defined ratio by 1/16ths.
ie. 13/16 would equal ~20% increase in speed before cart
goes into regen.

Completely reversible. Just unplug. Possible remote switching option. in-out
Overdrive switch?

Let me know your thoughts.
Beta tester needed for other than Gem car.
Target price $50-$100

I'll start my own thread if there is any interest.
I'm just feeling out the market.

I installed the speed magnet today on my 05 CC/DS and I was HOPING to go from 15 to 20, (or 22, as I have heard here is a good goal for the GE motor) but only got 17-18.
It did disable the regen/brake !!!
Batteries great
Connections are good
Tires pumped up
Everything rolls good
Alignment is good

How come I didn't realize more gain from the mod?

Thanks!

You should be able to get to 22mph down hill since the controller will not engage the Regen brake.

To get that speed on a level road using all stock components is a best case scenario with windshield down and no added weight of a back seat.

If You have an insulation piercing probe (or equivalent) You can make sure the controller is getting a signal from the MCOR that translates to 100% throttle.

If You measure the voltage on the Yellow wire at the MCOR (by piercing it), You need at least 4.65v with the Pedal down for the Controller to recognize 100%.

I installed the same magnet on my 2003 DS. According to my gps app, it goes 20mph on flat ground with 8 yo. Trojan batteries!

I installed the magnet and also upgraded to MCOR4 on my daughter's 2008 DS IQ. Get the parts from TahoeDawgZ71, he sells the 'real' stuff!

I used a couple of paint can openers to remove the old magnet. You WILL break it on removal, but no matter, the new one will be better. I used an old wooden hammer handle to carefully tap the new one in place.

The cart went from 14 to 20 after the change. You can change the magnet without removing the motor, I just removed the right rear wheel and fender liner for easy access...
