Re: Turkey Buggy wont go....
Well... turned key on and pressed the peddle and I got a green blink..solid green LED... voltage B- to M- started at full voltage and went to almost nothing as I pressed the peddle down...Green light went to Amber. All of this is what you want to see. I had the cart on jack stands and new motor seem to perform correctly. So... I decided to take all the connections off of the Alltrax and the soln between batteries and controller. Check and re-tightened all. Check the crimp connections on the slide terminals 1-4. Put it all back together... doubled checked all connections to make sure all was correct. NOW... I'm back to clicks and not LED again. I have about 45 volts on Pin 1. B- to M- has full voltage with key on, peddle pressed. The voltage never changes...peddle up or down. Bypassed the soln feeding controller...same thing. Jumped straight to Pin 1 with power...same thing. Its as of the controller isn't powered up.
There has got to be a way to check this controller! |

Re: Turkey Buggy wont go....
Why do I have 22-23 VDC between B+ and M-...?? with key off
My controller is bolted to frame... should it be insulated from the frame? This is a home build... it has worked for several years like this though. |

Re: Turkey Buggy wont go....
If you don't get the green led it isn't going to work. Try hooking a computer to it to see if that can tell you anything and 45 volts is low so when you do get it hooked up make sure to check the low voltage slider.

Re: Turkey Buggy wont go....
What about the 22-23 VDC between B+ and M-...?? with key off
Should the controller isolated from the frame? I have always had this floating around.... is that normal? I added a terminal strip when I built the cart so I could landed wires moving around the cart. I thought it would make it easier to troubleshoot and add stuff. I think I have added multiple points of failure to the equation..... |

Re: Turkey Buggy wont go....
They voltage with the key off could just be voltage from the capacitors in the controller. No it doesn't need be isolated.
Is your terminal strip grounding wires to the frame? If so that can definitely cause problems. |

Re: Turkey Buggy wont go....
The terminal strip is suppose to be isolated from the frame.
I don't understand how it could check out so good and then just stop. I'm thinking about pulling all the batteries and getting rid of the terminal strip. .....just to eliminate that as a possible cause. I guess I need to hook up laptop and take a look first. |

Re: Turkey Buggy wont go....
The first battery feeding DC+ is bad,,, well has fallen to 6.09 VDC.
I don't know if that is giving me the problems but its gotta be replaced anyway. I've just gone by and check to see if it would go and to check voltages... That's when I found the failing battery. |

No changes... let set for past few days and.... now it runs!
Still have bad battery... try to replace next week and see if that's my main problem. |
