Default Help with wiring a battery meter?

Hey all,
I bought a battery meter on Amazon. It got good reviews, but it may not be the best...who knows. Anyway, I am not the best electrician, and I cannot make heads or tails of the instructions.
For what it's worth, I have a 48v system, with six Trjan batteries. The batteries are about a year old.
The cart currently has a battery light. It is supposed to come on when the batteries get low, but I've never seen it come on. I was hoping to pull that light out, and use the same location for this gauge. I tool a pic of the instruction sheet. can someone help me, in plain English? Thanks gang!!

You cannot use the same wires as the battery indicator, leave that in place so You know when there is a charging problem.

There are wires already on the Precedent dash harness to connect the meter.
Meter + to Red wire.
Meter - to Black/Yellow wire.
Meter C to Blue wire on key switch.

truly you should send that back to Amazon and get yourself a LED meter instead of the bar style meter. for the effort of wanting to take care of your batteries you should get a better meter.

A meter like this :

Totally agree.... With a voltage meter you can learn to read it like a gas tank while sitting still and use it to judge battery performance (troubleshoot) while underway....
