Re: What to expect going with Monroe rear shocks?
I also have the Monroe 31176 shocks with HD springs. No difference in ride quality from stock springs. Only reason I got them is because they're blue (matched my D&D motor) and they're cheaper than burying CC branded ones. 90% of my driving is off road. YMMV.

Re: What to expect going with Monroe rear shocks?
Here is an excellent bargain for anybody who wants to try these shocks and form their own opinion. Amazon got them on sale. They are blems in very good condition w/minor paint damage. At $3.78 ea it would be worth the gamble. PS there are some pothole in town that even these aren't going to do any good.

My last drink cost more than 2 of those.
I'll give em shot. You can't buy the bushings for that price. If nothing else, they're prettier. Edit: As usual a day late and a dollar short. There's only 1 left in stock at that price, but you can get all you want at 40 bucks each. |

Re: What to expect going with Monroe rear shocks?
The rear HD spring I have are from Golf Cart King and they are the four leaf type and they are really stiff. Isn't there a softer spring out there that can support the rear seat area without being that rigid? I don't even think they can travel enough to compress the shocks....

The bottom short spring comes off pretty easy. I believe they are then classified as medium duty springs. You will have to get new bolts that holds them together that are 1/4 inch shorter. It's used for alignment.

Re: What to expect going with Monroe rear shocks?
Aren't the original springs the two leaf type, or are the actual leafs on these stiffer than the original? If not, it seems like you have gone back to a factory spring.

Factory springs are just a single leaf spring. (or at least they were on mine)
