Lightbulb How To Attach Pictures Or Documents

We have this happen quite a lot when someone cannot figure out how the "Attachment" portion of posting works and thus we write these steps fairly often to help someone do it. Since these instructions always get lost in those particular threads, I am going to try and capture it all in one titled thread and hopefully it will help those in the future that take the time to search for it. I have also used all five (5) tags to help this show up in various searches.

Whenever you are writing a new thread or replying to a post and need to add an attachment, please follow these steps below and it will walk you through the entire process.

1- By either clicking on the "New Thread" or "Post Reply" button....

2- Then scroll down to and click on the "Manage Attachments" button and a new dialog box will open....

3- Then click on the "Browse..." button and a dialog box will open that looks similar to Windows Explorer....

4- From that box just navigate through your files and click on the folder containing your picture or document....

5- Then double click the picture or document you want to attach and then it will go back to the dialog box and you will see the file address appear next to the "Browse..." button....

5a- Repeat the previous step up to four (4) times for a total of five (5) attachments maximum if needed.

6- Now click the "Upload" button and you will see it (them) appear in the box just beneath that labeled "Current Attachments"....

7- Now click the box labeled "Close this window" and you are ready to post it by clicking the "Submit New Thread" or "Submit Reply" button.

And Voila' - you have done it!

Note- You can also click on the "Preview Post" button to make sure it all looks as you envisioned, "before" it is actually posted....

Good Luck!

Just to add to this great write up , If you want to add a full size pic to the thread after Step 6 Click on the picture or highlighted link and It will then open in another window at full size (800 X 800 is about max for the screen without having to scroll left to right / up and down).

Now right click on picture and select properties for IE , A new dialog box opens and copy address or for Chrome copy image address

Click on the Insert Image icon (yellow with mountain scene) paste address . click ok

That is how you get a larger image in your post like this

And if you are posting with your phone reduce your pics before sending they do not post bigger than the page. Can anybody post a simple fix for that ?

On my iphone it asks me to pick the size. It offers Small - xkb's, Medium - xkb's, Large -xkb's, Actual Size - xmb's. I usually select medium.

No problems. When you right click on the big image choose "Copy image location" then insert that address for the image after clicking on the mountain.

By-the-way, you can also click on the paper-clip icon to get the dialogue box up (instead of clicking on the "Manage Attachments" button).

Firefox is terrific, I use in in preference to any of the others.
