Re: v glide to 5k potentiometer
You know that is called a Multi Step Potentiometer for a reason....
Your step appears to be within tolerance for the 1100Ω resistor (#40 in picture): |

Re: v glide to 5k potentiometer
You're right. I'm guilty. I call them all V-glides. I may know the difference but I sometimes forget to mention it in detail. Good catch.

Re: v glide to 5k potentiometer
I am guilt of that too, I think they officially called it a 'Multi Step Potentiometer" when they added the wire to the top post.
To me the interesting technical improvement is that Club Car also changed how the controller views the device, instead of a 2-wire rheostat, the 3-wire is a voltage divider. The cool part is that as a rheostat, You only have 6 distinct steps in the speed control, but as a voltage divider, You have 10 distinct steps since an intermediate step is generated when the wiper arm bridges 2 pads (except top and bottom). The step percentages are approximately: 16%, 19%, 30%, 36%, 46%, 56%, 64%, 75%, 82%, 100% |

Re: v glide to 5k potentiometer
It still feels like you are driving up these steps as opposed to a true potentiometer signal

Re: v glide to 5k potentiometer
Agreed. The new XCT is miles ahead of the poor old DCX throttle interface.
