Your car has an orange light on the dash that shud come on when the OBC detects batteries are low especially when you go up a hill.

If the solenoid is welded it will go into limp mode. About 8 mph. The speed sensor test will check good.

Re: 2009 Club Car Precedent is slow moving
It is located under the Go Pedal. Look from the underside of the cart
And you need to take your meter with you on the ride. Once it slows down and looses the power you describe, check the pack voltage then. And if there is a way to hook it up and lay it on the seat that will really tell you what is going on while in use. Back to the MCOR - If you think it is that you need to check the linkage and pedal adjustment to make sure it is not out or worn. Then if that and the batteries check out, turn your meter over to ohms and check the pedal for steady change across the movement. I think yours is a 5000-0 but if I am wrong it will be a 0-5000, regardless, you will know once you hook to it and start getting readings. |

I have seen at least two of them that had similar symptoms pass the rolling buzzer tests only to find out the speed sensors were bad. The local repair shop was the one that found the problem but I don't know how. Hopefully, someone with more repair experience catches this and chimes in. BTW, weak batteries will start off the charger OK and slowly decrease speed and torque. Stopping and restarting the cart without recharging has little to no improvement. When the cart goes into limp mode, it slows down rapidly to half speed. Starting and stopping without recharging can sometimes restore full speed for a short distance before the cart slows down again. Your batteries are pretty much shot and should be replaced anyway. Just don't be surprised if this does not solve the problem. |

Re: 2009 Club Car Precedent is slow moving
It does sound like a "Welded Solenoid" issue.
As the solenoid contacts wear out, there is material transfer from one contact surface to another that can sometimes have a "velcro" effect that will hold the contacts together after the solenoid coil has been de-energized. If that happens, the controller will not detect an increase in voltage next time it energizes the Solenoid and it will generate a "Main Welded" error condition that will cause the cart to run at 50% power (limp mode). |

Re: 2009 Club Car Precedent is slow moving
I put a new set of Interstate batteries in my cart this morning. It starts off fast and then will slow down some but NOT slow down to a snail's pace like it did before. The dealer told me that the batteries were not quite up to full charge (I measured all 6 batteries at 8.48 volts each and 50.9 volts for entire pack) but I could use the cart today and charge the batteries tonight.

I would have charged them fully before using it, but be sure to get them charged ASAP as what you do with them now will dictate how long they last AND perform.... And to properly season them, you will need to go through several use/charge cycles to build them up to their full capability.
