Default 1987 club car wiring questions

Ok I bought a battery meter for it since it didn't have one. The paper that came with it shows how to hook it direct or thru the key switch. I did thru the switch but still want work. So to make sure worked I hooked it direct and it does work. Can someone show me or tell me how I need to wire it through switch. Thank you

I do not know your wire color/schematic, but get your volt meter and probe the switch. You will find the voltage wire that is hot (shows voltage) and then another that is not until you turn the switch on. The one that is hot after the switch is on is the one you want to hook to. There should be a ground buss in the area.

Yes I sure do. I just found out even with the switch off and I turn the F&R switch to forward and push the pedal it will go. That ain't right for sure. I just replaced the old switch cause u had to jiggle the key to get it to work.

I try that thanks. Still got to see why with key switch off and not unwired when I turn selector switch to forward it still try to go. Some one has crossed some wires I think. The f&r switch is wired wrong from a pic I found on here of how it supposedly to be wired
