Need more help with 87 club car
Ok so this is what I have done: I replaced every electrical component on this thing now. The last is all new solenoids for the second time and I just replaced the entire speed controller. Before I did this it would go forwards but not backwards after I replaced those mentioned parts and charged it up it was good to go. Went backwards and forwards. I made a spin around the yard all of about 2 minutes and it stopped and does not go either way. So I checked voltage at the solenoids while having peddle pushed and the solenoids start thumping and I would have 36 volts on both sides of solenoids except the main one. Ohmed it across when coil thumped and nothing. So I figured it's bad. I have some extras so I put it on(checked it first to make sure it was good) put it on and same thing nothing. What am I missing?

Re: Need more help with 87 club car
Jump first solenoid, see if cart runs.
Are you getting 5 clicks on the solenoid. If you haven't modified the system from stock, its a very easy system to diagnose |

Re: Need more help with 87 club car
Jump big posts of first solenoid, step on accelerator, see if cart runs. If no, and you have no forward or reverse, and all the solenoid click, check the motor

Re: Need more help with 87 club car
Ok I jumped the first solenoid and it goes backwards and forwards. So that tells me solenoid is not making contact which is strange cause I checked it before I put it on. And it's always that first solenoid that keep bugging out. What's the deal

Are you using good solenoids? Your not using automotive ones right? Buying from a good source? See this a lot with cheap solenoids

Yeah club car brand. Could the motor be pulling to many amps. It's not new that's the only thing I haven't changed

Yes 36 volt ones. Ok I got this motor from on of the guys on here since he lives close to me and I looked up this motor just to try and find some specs on it and it says this motor is for a 92 and up car. Mine is an 87 should that make any difference
