1986 Club car moves without pushing pedal
Hi, I have an 86 club car 36volt...last week it started moving foreward when it's put in forward...doesn't do it in in reverse,
I've done some research and seems like the first solenoid may be stuck so i thought I would try that. Can anyone tell me which is the first? from what I've read, there is a master solenoid which powers the whole thing and the second one is actually the first one to make it move...which is which? Thanks |

The first solenoid is behind you on the drivers side and yes it’s stuck.

Re: 1986 Club car moves without pushing pedal
If I remember right that coil cart has 5 solenoids. A little tip too is if in the future the cart seems to start off pretty fast when you just start pushing the pedal one of your middle solenoids is bad and it’s just jumping to the next one. With it jacked up you can push the pedal with your hand slowly and feel each one going off until you feel one that is not firing off

Yeah you probably have a solenoid that’s bad and it’s skipping that gradual acceleration to abrupt jerking

Re: 1986 Club car moves without pushing pedal
Hopefully you got 2 solenoids as it takes 2 stuck solenoids to run with the key OFF.
If the cart only runs with the key ON (but no pedal), the issue is with the micro-switches inside the speed box (and You would hear the solenoids click when the key is turned ON). |
