It's a bad idea, and throwing away money. The older batteries will soon make the new batteries into batteries "just as old" as the old ones. Plus, most places offer no warranty on new batteries mixed with old batteries. A better, and cheaper idea is find a couple used batteries to mix in with your old ones. Most cart places will sell you a couple old ones out of the core pile. An automotive battery load tester, and a digital volt meter should be brought with you, so you can "pick a winner" off the junk pile. I would say that 75% of battery sets that get replaced still have a couple of usable ones left, so you can find something usable if you check them out before buying. The "off-grid solar guys" pick through our core pile, pretty successfully, because they bring tools to know what they're buying. Bring your junk batteries with you to "trade in", it will lower your price, the battery supplier charges extra if the dealer doesn't have cores to turn in.

All your batteries will only perform as well as your weakest one. Which means you can have 5 brand new batteries and one old one and the cart won’t perform.
