Yamaha G22E_slow and would like to go faster
First time posting, new to forum; sorry for sounding a little inept.
I just bought a 48v Yamaha G22E and thought it would go faster than it would. After reading another thread on here from a few years back, thought I'd start a new one and see if anyone has any updated thoughts on giving my new toy a little gusto. It's for street usage in my hilly community. Thanks |

Re: Yamaha G22E_slow and would like to go faster
What year G22e? Which motor manufacturer? (G22e was available with 3 different model motors). There are no cheap mods to increase speed on hills, that costs money. Some G22e could accept what's called "PTV speed code" to get you 19mph on flat ground, but torque and hill speeds won't imporve. Ptv speed code is only available on some G22e, and is available only from a Yamaha dealer. Don't fall for the "I'll just install high speed gears" trick, it will actually slow you down on hills.
