Re: Ez-Go 2five power upgrade
Will 205/30-14 work?
Found a set on eBay. Owners says will work but I want to make sure. |

Tire size calculator here: https://tiresize.com/calculator/
You can compare sizes to Bob's recommendations. |

Re: Ez-Go 2five power upgrade
OK maybe some confusion here. At the top of page it says no tires available in that size. You just want to use the calculator which will let you compare tire size dimensions. If I plug in the tires on my RXV (220/40-14), the actual dimensions of the tires match the dimensions stated by the calculator.

Re: Ez-Go 2five power upgrade
Actual true tire size can vary by +/- 1" from the advertised specs with most golf cart type tires, china quality at its worst!

Thank you so much for your input! I did end up having Bob come out in person and turn the controller. I have a few questions regarding your carts and those speeds you listed. Have you upgraded to a set of 2G wires? Also, what size tires are you running? I have not upgraded to 2G wires and I am running slightly worn (not much though) 215/35/14 (19.9”) tires. So...I do understand the wires will pull better current required for the motor and that 204/40/14 (20.5”) would get it moving quicker...BUT I am topping out at 25 mph on flat street. Am I missing something or would those two things really get me 7 mph more? |

Re: Ez-Go 2five power upgrade
Cart has 225/40-14 tires. I run ~20psi.
Before Bob's tune it would run 22-24 with just the dealer unlock sometimes called "freedom" on those tires. These carts will run ~20 mph with the freedom unlock on standard stock 18" tall tires so the speed difference is all in the size of the tires. Bob's tune resulted in 32 mph measured by GPS (more than one and they agree). That is on level pavement with just me on the cart. I have seen 36 mph on a slight downhill and I believe it would go faster at that location but I haven't pushed it and don't intend to. My experience is typical based on reports from others over the last year or two. This cart was built to order on a 2012 chassis but everything but the chassis was brand new in 2016 including Trojan 8v batteries and all new 4ga cabling. I haven't changed to 2ga cables yet but I intend to sometime. I haven't had any issues with heat yet but in the environment the cart operates in the normal average speed is in the 12-15 mph range with only bursts into the 20s and above 25 is rare. I do punch it on occasion though and have surprised a few people in autos. I like to have this capability but actually isn't necessary for my use and can be dangerous. |
