Default Mpt1000 no reverse

Restored a working MPT1000 48v, everything worked until I installed a volt meter. I’m new to the golf cart world. Wired up some LED’s and radio. Everything worked, got to the volt meter, Old battery meter didn’t work so I used existing wires from that for volt meter. Capped one wire and used the black wire from meter and power from keyswitch for volt meter. Works perfect when Turing the key on. Don’t know if I shorted something out but now the cart doesn’t go in reverse. Hear no click. Forward works fine and can hear click. I put in new f/r switch and just replaced the micro switch today. Could it be the solenoid that went back or got shorted out some how? Check all the fuses I could find, replaced the headlight fuse and those work fine now. Any help would be awesome. Thanks

SEP EX controller, don’t know what year tho. The serial plate is was taken off. Got it from my father in law after he passed. It had the MPT stickers on the side if that helps. Any other place I could find the serial # on it?

Here is a service manual for it.

Looks like it has a Curtis 1264 sepex controller.

If it run in one direction, but not the other, either the F/R switch (or wires) is bad or the controller is bad.

Since you've already replaced the F/R switch, chances are high the controller is bad, but check for pack voltage on Pins 10 or 11 when F/R is in F or R. If you have it, the controller is bad.

Replace it with an Alltrax XCT48400-1264/1268 (or larger) controller.

I don’t know if this will help anything but was doing research and just happened to plug the reverse buzzer back in and for some reason, it will only buzz when the key is in the off position.....

Sounding more and more like the controller is messed up.

The controller controls the beeper as well as the direction the amps flow through the field windings, so now there are two indicators it isn't working right.
