Default 1882 CC 1st Solenoid clicks, cart doesn't move

I have a 1982 5-solenoid cart. When I press throttle pedal, I hear 4 clicks total. 1st click, no cart movement. 2nd, 3rd and 4th clicks the cart moves increasingly faster with each click. I think I have a bad solenoid in the chain of solenoids. Is there a procedure to test each one of these? Also, should I be hearing 5 clicks?
Thanks.

If it is an 1882 model the mule pulling it is acting up.

Seriously, just check to see which one is not clicking and replace it. Also, a good time to clean up the area and replace all of them while in there.

Ha-Ha, just caught that on the year! I can't edit my posts yet, too green. But thanks. I take it the 1st speed solenoid is probable bad? And that one is the 2nd from the right when looking towards the back with the red wire?

I don't know. You will have to see if it is clicking.

If that one (or another) is bad I would replace them because you have to take the batteries out anyway.

I thought on a 5 solenoid cart the first click you hear is the first solenoid all the way closest to the driver. That is the master solenoid. It should click but NO movement should occur until you hear the second click which is the second solenoid for slowest speed...

This is correct. The way I am understanding his problem one of the other 4 is not working.

Ah sorry about that. Quick read he fooled me for a second by saying 1st click no movement.

I have actually had a solenoid click that ended up being bad. Other times a simple tap with a hammer got them unstuck. There are some ways you can find to test them via forum search.
