Default MJZ 400a solenoid failure (again)

Driving my cart in our cart parade tonight the cart just stopped moving.
Alltrax sr48400 controller is giving Pre charge failure code. Same thing happened a few years ago and had to replace my MJZ 400a solenoid that was 4 months old.
Solenoid does click so I still need to test it in the morning to verify.
Any recommendations on a specific manufacturer or different solenoid?
Thanks

Thumbs up Re: MJZ 400a solenoid failure (again)

I bought one this past spring for my cousin cart. It failed in less than 2 months. I bought a new one because we where at the beach when it failed. It is OK for now but I had the old one sent back and got a new one so I have a back up just in case.
I like the Albright solenoids myself.

Parade = a slow moving cart possibly with big tires? In this case the cart is in a high amperage draw situation continuously. Normally the cart would be in this situation for a few seconds during take off but in the parade, as in turkey hunting, the high amp situation continues indefinitely. Something is going to fail pretty soon - lucky it wasn't the F&R, motor, or controller.

Scottyb understandable, however out of 16 electric carts in the same parade mine was the only one to have an issue. (most of those carts are lifted and have taller tires than I do)

Andy thanks, I will look into those.

I have seen some garbage ones off eBay now. Buy from a reputable dealer. I am not sure if the ones I got were "clones" but, ultimately the price was too good to be true. Looked similar but, I compared them (after they died) with one I got from Redhawk and they were market slightly different. Looked identical but, were not identical because they all died a horrible death.

Make sure it is marked as: MZJ-400A/013M

Curtis Albright as Andy linked above are awesome.
