2003 48 volt work horse Solenoid engaging question
Got this cart all back together rebuilt sepex controller and new solenoid turn the on and push the pedal solenoid clicks and clicks if I wait 1 minute after I turn the key on then push the pedal solenoid engages fine and cart works. In some of the Schematics I see what looks like a jumper Capacitor on the large solenoid posts . Mine does not have that . If I leave the key on no problem but will that not wear the battery down when just sitting
It's a 48v sepex 400 Amp controller. So what resistor would I need |

Re: 2003 48 volt work horse Solenoid engaging question
If it is a Curtis 1264 controller, it doesn't have a precharge resistor. The filter capacitors inside the controller are kept charged via J1 Pins 3 & 4, which are fed via one of the two sets of contacts in the Run/Tow switch. J1 Pin-2 is fed by the other set.
Making sure you have battery pack voltage on J1 Pins 2, 3 & 4 is a good starting point. FWIW: A 470Ω resistor is typically used on 48V systems, but I'm not sure if a 1264 will function with one between the solenoid's large terminals. Please identify which model controller your cart has. Pictiure of controller's label will do that, or pictures of controller will help. |
