Default 2021 ezgo s4 72 volt state of charge gauge

I received my new 2021 S4 72 volt cart and the state of charge gauge only shows 80%, I have unplugged meter, broke the circuit and still nothing

Did you verify meter was correct by useing a multi meter volt meter to know batteries are only at 80% ?
If meter is bad would you consider useing an in dash volt meter similar to what carts unlimited sells ? 😊

This is common, and caused by the way it is programmed at the factory. They don't have the time required to get a decent calibration for each and every set of batteries, so they use ballpark numbers. I recalibrate those that I come in contact with to remedy that issue.

I have the same issue with 2018 72V TXT. Each battery individually is good. The pack, resting after full charge is +/- 77 DCV but the State of Charge meter never goes above 80%. I replaced the meter but same problem. Performance has always been good so I just tolerate it.

I am happy to see Bob can fix this. Timing is good because I am the guy driving from Northwest Wisconsin to meet Bob in the St Louis area next week.

I have better software than the factory, and the knowledge that comes from designing and patenting controllers, and writing software for them. There are over 4,000 makes/models of drive-by-wire vehicles on the road today that are using controllers and software based upon my designs. It all started with my fly-by-wire systems for the aerospace industry.
