Default Clutch Removal Procedure

Can anyone post the procedure for removing the clutch on my 81 G1?I've got seals and a clutch tool coming tomorrow and I really don't have a clue as to how the whole thing comes off.Do you remove the sliding sheave 1st or does the thing come off as a unit?

Either way, the sliding sheave 1st or as a single unit. To make it easier, pull the gas tank out first.

Hi Pappy,
Sent you a Pm. I too have an 81 g1. Can help if you still need it. Done some work on mine this summer. Changed seals and bearings, rings, fuel pump and fuel lines. Still trying to get it running smoothly. Work on when I can.

Thanks to everybody,I pulled the magneto off yesterday and I have never seen so much dirt/dust in something that is electrical.I don't see how a spark could be generated thru all that gunk, was'nt oily just dirt.Goin to clean it all up before taking anything else off.

I'm still in this process, but I ran into something I've got a question about:the serial#on the frame is different than on the engine. Are they supposed to be the same?Frame-J10-003191-/Engine-003231
