Help!!! Bent Frame
My Son Just Crashed The G22 Into A Pillar. The Passenger Side Front Of The Frame Is Bent. It Is Bent Where The Round Tubing From The Side Start To Curve In Right Behind The Front Wheel. The Wheel Is Now Rubbing Against The Floor Area. Is It Possible To Fix And How Would You Recomend Fixing It...any Help Will Be Appreciated

Re: Help!!! Bent Frame
My son and his friend ran my G9 into a tree a couple of years ago. I tried fixing it and ended up just salvaging what I could and buying another one. Depending on how bad the frame is bent you may be able to fix it considering if your a good welder. Mine was bent too bad and even buckled the passenger's side main rail. Consider the safety of the cart as well if you decide to repair.

Re: Help!!! Bent Frame
To Me The Frame Is Not That Bad. The Sides Of The Frame Didnt Buckle Just Where It Curves Inward From The Side. There Is Like A 3-4 Inch Differance From Wheel To Frame On Passenger Side - Driver Side.i Was Thinking Of Chaining The Cart To A Truck Or Something And Pulling The Frame With A Come-along To Get It As Straight As Possible. Another Option Is Cutting The Whole Front Portion Off And Making A New Front Section Out Of Square Tubing????lmk

Re: Help!!! Bent Frame
Someone awhile back grafted a used frame section on the front for the same reason. From what I recall it worked out good. I would try straightening first.

Re: Help!!! Bent Frame
I'd give straitening a try - what have you got to lose besides a little time/effort? And you will gain experience --- and maybe it will work OK!
After chaining the frame to an anchor point and the come-along to another, I think it would be advisable to put a hydraulic jack between the frame rails to push the bent section out while pulling it lengthwise. The added stress should be enough to "guide" the frame back into alignment. Afterwards you might want to weld a plate along the rail as a "gusset". |

Re: Help!!! Bent Frame
i would straightening it first, then welding in a new piece, and last completely replace the frame.

Re: Help!!! Bent Frame
Pull the front body off of it and see what you have.
Might call a bodyshop and check on their hourly rate for frame repairs, might be cheaper in the long run. |

Re: Help!!! Bent Frame
Crash, you give really good advice. I've tried the self starightening method and even with a torch to get the frame tube red hot, you just don't have enough "pullin power" with a come-along, I have a hydrolic port-a-power but there's really no strong point to use it. Now, Like Crash said, take the front cowel and inner dash assy off. Take it to an automotive body shop. They normally charge 125.00 to 200.00 to do the job. Good luck Dave
