How does club car get around this problem when someone with a gasser gets the overhead radio console from them?

Some (SOME) voltage drop is to be expected across the battery everytime the starter engages. A newer battery will reduce this possibility, and a second dedicated battery will eliminate it alltogether but presents another issue with charging.

Just talked to the club car dealer in my area (still 2hrs away) anyways, he recommonded not going off the key switch which can cause this problem. I'll have to wire it to a toggle switch and go directly to the battery and see how that works out. I'll keep you all updated. Might not be able to do this till Friday. Maybe tonight cause it is pissing me off.

I had a similar problem when using an amp. I ditched the amp because the current draw was almost as much as my charging current. Club Car generators only put out about 16 amps, thats not very much when you add up all the accessories "lights, stereo". I have headlights, tail lights, turn signals and stereo. Two 55 watt halogen headlights equal 110 watts which is 9.16 amps, that only leaves about 7 amps to charge battery. Check what the current draw of the amp is, do not use the output power to figure this, you need to know power consumption in watts, and devide that by 12 "volts" and you will have the currant draw. Dont forget to add in any other stuff that is on at the same time. I lowered the wattage on my headlights down to 35 watt halogen "5.8 amps", and changed to this stereo http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web...%7CGRP2021____ only about 4 amp draw, and all is good. Hope this helps.

A stereo or "head unit" usually draws less current than an amp.

Here are the specs. I have know idea about the draw. here are the specs.
Specifications:
Speaker Impedance ………………………… 2 – 8 ohm
Output Power (2 ohm load) ………………… 25 W RMS per channel
(4 ohm load) ………………… 15 W RMS per channel
Frequency Response ………………………. 20 Hz – 20 kHz
Operating Voltage ………………….. ……… 13.8V (10V – 16V)
DC Idle Current (no signal) ……………………… 10 mA
Maximum current draw (full power) ……….. 7 A
Remote wire current ………………………… 4 mA
Dimensions (approx. w/h/d) ……………….. 105mm X 40mm X 120mm 4.15 X 1.5 X 4.75 inches
Weight ……………………………………….. 15 oz (.425 Kg)

Here is the link to the amp. http://www.polyplanar.com/pdf/Wiring_Config/ME-50.pdf

By the specs it has a 7 amp draw at full power which is not too much..You are more than likely getting a big drop in current when the engine starts that is lower than the operating voltage of the stereo. Mine would do thas sometimes. Then I popped in a fresh battery and have had no problem since. I can bet a fresh battery will be the cure.
