Default Is this car lifted?

1999 Gas Club Car

8" wheels...

Single-leaf spring routed/installed below the rear axle...

What looks like a "stock" arrangement to me at the front....

See photos:

And, while here....will the replacement of the rear leaf springs with a "heavy duty [multi-leaf} spring "kit" (ordered for this car, of course) be a direct and easy swap-out given the rear mounting points of the springs?

Thanks, So Much, In Advance

Yes it is!

What you have is a "Z" lift up front, (cut frame with a steel Z bracket)
and extended rear leaf shackles, all to create a 4" lift

You also have rear leaf spring "helper" leafs (addl. spring below the stock leaf)
which you "may" just want to hang onto because, HD rear leafs are quite "stiff"

and yes... the HD rear leafs that you ordered (being that they are for a CC golf car) should bolt right up,
but, you may need longer U bolts for the new HD leaf springs.

Lockman1,

Thanks for the input....and your cart is gorgeous BTW.

Knowing for sure what I have means I can go ahead and order those HD rear leafs. Three more questions come to mind:

1) Can I assume that the new leaf springs are to oriented the same i.e. below the axle?...and

2) Will the HD front leaf be beneficial for heavy loads (the cart always ends up carrying 4 big folks around the farm for some reason)?

3) You alluded to the HD springs being really stiff....can I assume that "stiffness" is a matter of personal tolerance for ride quality? I can sacrifice some ride quality for suspension components that aren't bent from abusive loads.

Cheers.

You have a shackle lift in the rear.

#1 - Yes
#2 - Not really, but maybe... most of the weight is on the back
#3 - Most of the time, it's just me and the dog, running around at the campground,
.......with HD rear leafs, my cart can be "bone jarring" when you hit a bump, but rides really "Cushy" with 4 people. (and the dog... )

Just remember... the axle to leaf spring U bolts may not be long enough to accomidate the the new HD leafs.

Otherwise... you should be good to go, and thank you for the kind words!

scotty... I did say that you know!
