Default 88 gas is binding up when going forward

I have a 88 gas club car. The engine is binding up when going forward. Can back up and then go forward for a very little distance. When it binds up it will not turn over at all till you back up a short distance. Could it be a bearing in the motor or would it be something in the belts. The motor sound like a rattle in the front or maybe a bearing rattle.

I'm gonna throw a shot in the dark and say driven clutch?
Do what Tom suggested and if it still does it pull the drive belt off and run the motor to determine if it is motor related or clutches.

Pull spark plug and turn engine over, If there is fuel in oil you should be able to see it coming out the plug hole.

I dunno about that Rose, the piston rings would have to be shot up pretty badly to allow oil past them and into the upper cylinder. IMHO, remove the dipstick and sniff it to see if you detect the smell of petrol in the engine case. Also, if fuel is getting in there the level will likely be higher than normal.
