1996 CC Gas Clutch help
Howdy All.
I am about to do the high gear set 8:1 change out and while looking to validate the axle to ensure I order right part, I notice something. After reading all of the info on clutches, I wanted to provide a picture and see if something is wrong and if there is something I can do to resolve. Short term and long term fixes are welcome! So I put my cart in maintenance mode and wanted to see how high my belt rides up the "sheaves". You can see where the belt isn't coming up to the top. Is that normal? If not, what can be done to resolve? I checked my belt width. It is just a hair over 7/8". Please tell me this isn't a pocket book breaker! Thanks in advance guys! Buckey |

Re: 1996 CC Gas Clutch help
Well on the 88-96 models they were bad about getting a hump in them from being run in a slow motion per say on the course. It is a counter clockwise rotation, so you could get a new one or get them machined. I have had 3 in the last 3 months that are this way all 92'-93' models.

Re: 1996 CC Gas Clutch help
that appears to be at rest. it looks like your wear line is a bit down from the top of the clutch. if there are large ridges in the clutch(s) it probably needs replaced. how is the belt? if the belt is severly worn it will have a similar effect. also how is your driven? if it has similar ridges in it then a pair of them is in order. clutches can be sent to tom at cpp to be machined, however if they are shot to begin with you are only wasting money IMHO.
