Default club car engine problems

I have a stock 1992 club car for some reason the engine will be running fine and then it will cut out and lose power for a short time and then it will come back also some times when you come to a stop the engine doesnt shut off. I have cleaned my carb and fuel lines but this has not helped

sounds like fuel pump is not pumping proficiently. it cant keep the bowl filled thus starving the engine.

Check that the butterfly in the carb is closing absolutly all the way it sounds like it is staying open just a little.
